Job summary

Aspira Valleylands Oshawa is seeking a casual server to assist in dining services for residents, delivering friendly, respectful service and ensuring a safe, clean dining experience. You will support meal preparation and delivery in a fast-paced setting, while upholding the home’s standards of care and resident well-being.

Candidates should have Smart Serve or Serve It Right, at least one year of dining room experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room service
• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process is an asset
• Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada or valid work/study permit
• Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check required

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals under Chef guidance
• Set, serve and clean dining tables following Ready, Set, Serve program
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining areas as required by health regulations
• Contribute to a positive resident dining experience and hospitality service
