Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an energetic Active Living Manager to design and implement a diverse activity program that enhances residents' quality of life and happiness. You will lead a creative team, plan calendars and events, and collaborate with volunteers and external partners to deliver meaningful experiences.

You will guide wellness-oriented activities for seniors, ensuring safety, inclusivity and engagement while aligning with the residence’s values and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in recreation/active living.
• One year of leadership experience with mature adults/seniors.
• Two-year post-secondary education in recreation/active living, gerontology, or related field.
• Certifications in gerontology, senior fitness, Dementia/Alzheimer’s, wellness, SmartServe, Food Handling or volunteer management are assets.
• Knowledge of adapting programs for cognitive, physical and sensory impairments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging programs to enhance residents’ quality of life.
• Create and manage monthly calendars, newsletters, and events; oversee live entertainment.
• Assess residents’ needs and tailor activities to promote wellness and social interaction.
• Lead a team and collaborate with volunteers, families and external partners.
• Ensure alignment with organizational values and pursue opportunities for career growth within the residence.
