Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an energetic Active Living Manager to lead wellness and recreation programs for residents. You will develop engaging activities, manage calendars and events, and nurture a vibrant volunteer program while upholding our values and promoting a healthy, happy living environment.

With 2+ years in recreation/active living and 1 year in leadership with seniors, you will collaborate across teams, handle program development, and drive initiatives that enhance residents'

Qualifications

• Two years in recreation/active living and one year in leadership with mature adults/seniors
• Minimum two years post-secondary education in recreation/active living or related field
• Certifications in gerontology, seniors' fitness, dementia/wellness are assets
• Knowledge of program adaptations for cognitive/physical impairments
• Current driver license (F Class) or ability to obtain
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
• Creative approach to program development and events
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging programs enhancing residents' quality of life
• Create monthly calendars and newsletters, schedule events and live entertainment

Salary Range: 55,000 - 65,000 Annually.

Your experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in recreation/active living and one (1) year of leadership experience working with mature adults and seniors in a related setting
• Minimum 2 year post-secondary education in the field of recreation/active living, leisure studies, gerontology, social services, kinesiology, health promotion, health sciences or a related field
• Certifications or training in gerontology, senior's fitness, Dementia/Alzheimer's, wellness interventions, SmartServe, Food Handling and volunteer management are considered an asset
• Knowledge of program adaptations and modifications to benefit individuals with cognitive, physical and sensory impairments
• Current F Class/Class 4 license or ability to obtain
• Current certification in CPR/first aid
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to program development and special event design
• Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
