Job summary

Canadian Association of Labour Media in Halifax, NS is seeking an Employment Relations Officer to provide labour relations representation and advisory support to the Institute and its members on both individual and collective matters.

The position requires a university degree in industrial or labour relations or law, 3–5 years’ related experience, strong advocacy and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel; hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• University degree in industrial/labour relations, law, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of progressive labour relations experience.
• English required; bilingual ability an asset.

Responsibilities

• Represent and advise the Institute and members in labour relations matters.
• Negotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of members.
• Provide guidance on relevant labour relations topics and processes.
• Prepare documentation for formal proceedings and investigations.
• Contribute to training and development of stewards.
