Job summary

TD Securities in Toronto, ON is seeking a senior Java Software Engineer to join the Market Risk Technology Engineering Team. You will help grow risk and valuation applications through careful software design and implementation in Java.

Development opportunities include migrating to a new cloud environment, building and refactoring applications, and guiding architectural direction while mentoring teammates in best practices for scalable, low-latency systems.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate required.
• 5-7+ years of Java experience.
• Experience in the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot.
• Experience in designing and integrating with REST APIs, gRPC endpoints.
• Experience working with messaging technologies (Kafka).
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet or similar Big Data technologies.
• Experience with RDBMS and SQL.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven / Gradle), Jenkins, in an Agile environment.
• Strong understanding of clean coding practices.
• Experience with scalable and low latency systems.
• Passion for automating and improving processes.
