Citi is seeking aLead Back-End Java Developer in its Credit Risk Technology team. You will own complex backend development, set engineering standards, and guide a team across global projects, delivering scalable, enterprise-grade software for risk management.

You will leverage Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Oracle DB in a restrained, high-impact environment, while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust data protection.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with Java backend.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate in large-scale systems.
• Oracle DB design and query optimization.
• Lead software delivery end-to-end.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate across geographies and teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver robust backend applications using Spring Boot, Hibernate, multithreading, and Oracle DB to support credit risk technology platforms.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment to maintain a high quality, production‑ready codebase.
• Architect application solutions aligned to the technology blueprint, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior and mid‑level developers.
• Collaborate with multiple technology and business teams to identify system enhancements for new credit risk products.
• Assess risk in engineering decisions with focus on regulatory compliance and data protection.
