Job summary

Ciklum is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join our Canada team on a full-time basis. You will own architecture across product and platform, drive scalable design decisions, and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, strong Java/J2EE and cloud exposure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and experience with FedRAMP/regulatory environments. This is a hands-on leadership role with global impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall experience with at least 5 years as Staff/Principal engineer in B2B SaaS start-ups.
• Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js) and multi-stack architectures.
• Proven ability to lead architecture direction, drive cross-team aligned roadmaps, and deliver durable technical decisions.
• Experience with FedRAMP or government cloud certifications and scalable, regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across product and platform, including service boundaries and API standards.
• Lead architecture reviews and guide roadmaps for long-term simplicity, maintainability, and performance.
• Mentor engineers across teams and build learning mechanisms like guilds and design workshops.
• Drive global cloud deployments, multi-region strategies, DR, observability, and production readiness.
