Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join our Canada-based team. You will own architecture across product and platform, lead multi-team initiatives, and drive modern best practices, CI/CD, and production readiness.

You will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps, and ensure scalable, secure systems in a global cloud environment, collaborating with security/compliance and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Ten years of overall experience with at least five years as a Staff/Principal engineer at B2B SaaS startups.
• Strong working knowledge across Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js).
• Experience designing shared services (identity/auth, platform APIs).
• Experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, and platform tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across product and platform, including service boundaries and API standards.
• Lead architecture reviews and influence roadmaps balancing delivery with maintainability and performance.
• Introduce new technologies, establish design and testing standards, and raise engineering quality with clear docs.
