Job summary

Nova Steel Inc. seeks a hands-on Senior IT Technician (Level 1-2) to support users and operations in a manufacturing setting. You will provide Level 1-2 support for hardware, software, and networks, covering end-user devices, Microsoft 365, cloud apps, and plant systems.

You will be a key contact across the organization, assisting office staff to plant operators, ensuring reliable IT services, uptime, and a strong user experience while collaborating with operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 3-7+ years of IT support experience (Level 1-2).
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is a strong asset.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications (preferred): Microsoft (M365, Azure); CompTIA A+, Network+.
• Ability to work onsite in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
• Flexibility to occasionally support off-hours or urgent production needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1-2 technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, and mobile devices.
• Support plant-floor technologies including tablets and barcode scanners (inventory).
• Assist users with email, phones, Microsoft 365, and business applications.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, network access).
• Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Microsoft 365 and other SaaS platforms.
• Manage user groups, permissions, and access rights following company policies.
• Handle incoming requests and incidents via Jira Service Management.
• Prioritize, document, and track tickets to resolution within SLA targets.
• Provide on-the-floor IT support to plant operators and production staff.
• Maintain documentation of procedures, configurations, and solutions.
• Identify recurring issues and propose improvements.
