Job summary

Sabre LTD, headquartered in Calgary, seeks a Senior Instrumentation Estimator to lead cost estimation for instrumentation and control system projects across industrial sectors in Canada and beyond.

Ideal candidates will combine deep instrumentation knowledge with commercial acumen, and will manage multiple complex estimates in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to optimize pricing and execution strategies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience in instrumentation, with a focus on industrial sectors.
• Journeyperson instrumentation ticket is an asset.
• Strong ability to read drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, procurement, and operations.
• Proven experience leading complex bids and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for material, labour, equipment, subcontractors and indirect costs.
• Review drawings, specs, P&IDs, and bid packages to define scope and execution strategy.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, operations and project management to set assumptions and pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities; develop mitigation plans.
• Track market trends, labour and material pricing to keep estimates current.
• Prepare bid summaries and client submissions outlining costs, exclusions, and deliverables.
• Support project handover with estimating expertise and cost insights for execution teams.
• Improve estimating processes, tools and practices to drive profitability.
