Job summary

BDO Canada seeks an experienced Licensed Insolvency Trustee to lead consumer bankruptcy and proposal files in New Brunswick.

You will advise on bankruptcy laws, conduct debtor assessments, manage asset recovery, supervise staff, and coordinate with debtors, creditors, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and the Courts.

Travel to satellite offices as needed, help develop referrals and practice growth, and contribute to a collaborative, client‑focused team.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of insolvency rules, laws, and procedures.
• Fully Licensed Insolvency Trustee with multi‑jurisdictional license including NB, NS, NL, PEI, AB, SK, MB.
• CIRP designation.
• Able to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands and multiple tasks.
• Flexibility on working hours; some evening work required.
• Willingness to travel to satellite offices.
• Value teamwork, client service, and quality in your work.

Responsibilities

• Manage consumer bankruptcy and proposal files.
• Provide advice on current bankruptcy laws and practices, conduct debtor assessments, and manage asset recovery (including acting as Receivers).
• Supervise staff and delegate tasks and projects as required.
• Ongoing communications with debtors, creditors, OSB, and the Courts through creditor meetings and reports.
• Identify, target, and develop referral sources.
• Assist with practice development assignments and travel to other BDO offices and satellite locations as required.
• Assist with managing court files, including taxation of fees.
