BDO Canada is seeking an Insolvency Analyst to join the Proposals team in Halifax. You will review consumer proposals, negotiate amendments, and chair creditor meetings.

You will interact with debtors and creditors, demonstrate strong communication and attention to detail, and contribute to timely, high-quality service. This role supports growth in a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• One or more years of relevant work experience in a financial service environment; Insolvency, Banking, Finance, Credit Counseling or other relevant areas.
• Great interpersonal skills to deal with team members, debtors, and creditors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond to different situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review consumer proposals for acceptance by creditors or whether proposal negotiations are required.
• Assisting with negotiating with the debtor and creditors on amendments to the consumer proposals.
• Assisting with chairing meetings of creditors and drafting minutes of the meeting.
• Responding to debtors’ inquiries in a timely manner.
• Answering questions relating to the consumer proposal.
• Liaising with team members to ensure efficient, diligent, and timely administration of the consumer proposal.
• Participating in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge.
• Completing other duties as assigned.
