Job summary

BDO Canada LLP seeks a Manager, Banking to lead the Banking Centre of Excellence within Personal Debt Solutions across Canada. This role oversees delivery of high-quality, compliant banking services and manages estate funds handling under bankruptcy and insolvency rules.

The successful candidate will mentor the team, coordinate multi-office operations, and ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance while delivering exceptional client experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related insolvency experience, with consumer work focus preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and drive team performance.
• Strong prioritization and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to accommodate varying work schedules, including evenings as needed.
• Commitment to client service and high-quality, detail-oriented work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hands-on role in day-to-day banking operations across multiple offices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence, while leading the team.
• Coordinate and distribute workload across the team, monitoring progress and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Oversee high-volume transactional workflows, including bank reconciliations, PAD agreements, dividend distributions, interim payments, final disbursements, and fee cheques.
• Provide guidance and support in resolving complex banking issues, exceptions, and client escalations, ensuring timely resolution and strong client experience outcomes.
• Clarify communication performance expectations, priorities, and operational objectives to team members.
• Partner with Licensed Insolvency Trustees, Team Leaders, and key internal team to align on banking operations with firm-wide priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Identify performance gaps and collaborate with Team Leaders to develop and implement effective resolution and improvement plans.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality assurance standards.
• Coach, mentor, and support team members in their professional growth, skill development, and subject-matter expertise.
