Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a civil/structural engineer to join our hydroelectric team for projects in Canada and internationally. You will lead design and rehabilitation work on dams, spillways and powerhouses, and provide technical guidance to clients.

With 10+ years of relevant experience and EGBC registration eligibility, you will coordinate multidisciplinary design meetings, mentor junior staff and oversee construction follow-up. Proficiency in SAP2000, Abaqus and ANSY is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in design and rehabilitation of water retaining structures, bridges and heavy civil engineering structures.
• Membership with EGBC and eligibility for professional engineer in Canada.
• Fluency in English; bilingualism considered an asset.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of SAP2000, Abaqus, ANSY.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel).
• Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures.
• Multidisciplinary coordination, leading design meetings with clients and internal teams.
• Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and verification of design calculations and notes.
• Participation and supervision of the production of main deliverables: design reports, structural drawings and specs for tenders and construction.
• Supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
• Follow-up of works during construction.
