Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a structural engineer to join its hydroelectric team, focusing on dams, spillways and powerhouses in Canada with potential international projects.

You will work on analysis, design and rehabilitation of hydraulic structures within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with clients and preparing technical deliverables. A degree in civil engineering and 5–10 years of relevant experience are required, with PE registration or eligibility and English fluency essential.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis has a large experienced hydroelectric team (over 100 employees), mainly composed of engineers and technicians, located in Montreal and Vancouver. The areas of activity of this team include geotechnics and geology, civil engineering and structure, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanics and electricity.

Our hydroelectric team covers the Canadian market, but sometimes also the international market. It is therefore possible that you will be asked to participate in projects both in Canada and internationally.

You will take charge of technical mandates specific to hydroelectric structures including dams, spillways, and powerhouses.

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a structural engineer to join a team dedicated to engineering works mainly targeting hydroelectric projects and who will be able to use his or her experience and expertise to support the client in decision‑making or to clarify their needs.

In this role, you will work within the engineering team for the analysis, design and rehabilitation of structures as part of various dam, hydraulic works, building and bridge projects in the field of hydroelectricity.

Your role

• Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants andrelated structures (concrete and steel);
• Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and relatedstructures;
• Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings(internally and with the client);
• Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation and/orverification of design calculations and associated calculation notes;
• Participation and supervision of the production of the main technicaldeliverables, i.e. design reports, structural drawings and technicalspecifications for calls for tenders and for construction;
• Follow‑up the works during construction.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural profile, Master's degreein civil engineering, an asset;
• Having minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design andrehabilitation of water retaining structures, bridges and civil engineeringstructures;
• Being a member of the PEO or being eligible for registration as aprofessional engineer in Canada;
• Fluency in English (spoken and written), bilingualism, an asset;
• Knowledge of Ontario Power Generation standards is an asset.

Additional Information

Expected compensation for this role is between $100,200 - $137,700annually. Basesalaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience,and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are alsotaken into account in our offers.
