Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulic studies, design water intakes, pumping stations, and reservoirs across municipal, hydroelectric, mining, industrial, and environmental markets.

You will plan, analyze, and supervise design through construction, collaborating with civil, mechanical, geotechnical, environmental, and electrical teams, and serving as a client and regulatory contact throughout project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water/Hydraulic Eng required.
• Master’s in Applied Hydraulics is an asset.
• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• P.Eng and OIQ membership or eligible.
• Experience with water intake systems and pumping stations.
• Knowledge of Canadian standards and environmental regulations.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines.
• Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic studies for water intake structures.
• Define design parameters and assess ice, sediments, and debris impacts.
• Design intake screens, basins, and pumping stations.
• Prepare design criteria, calculations, reports and specs.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, environmental teams.
• Provide construction support and respond to RFIs.
• Present findings to clients and regulators.
• Review drawings and equipment data sheets.
• Participate in site inspections and commissioning.
