Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada is seeking a hydraulic engineer to influence technical solutions from proposals through testing with a multidisciplinary team. You will work to define competitive hydraulic options and ensure performance and feasibility for major hydropower projects.

You will analyze specifications, develop optimized solutions with engineers, perform hydrodynamic calculations, and contribute to client-ready reports and discussions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and engineering judgement to develop high-performing hydraulic solutions.
• Creativity and initiative to solve complex hydraulic problems and communicate technical choices clearly.
• Ability to influence proposal teams and stakeholders with sound technical reasoning.
• Proficiency with hydraulic analysis and calculation tools; willingness to travel for projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications, drawings and requirements to define competitive hydraulic solutions.
• Develop and optimize preliminary solutions with design and mechanical teams for feasibility and performance.
• Perform analyses including turbine performance, hydraulic transients, and seal sizing.
• Identify hydraulic risks and propose practical, innovative mitigation approaches.
• Prepare hydraulic proposals, data sheets and clear reports for customers.
