Job summary

ALS Canada Ltd. is hiring a field-based HSE Manager to drive health, safety, and environmental programs across our regional operations in Manitoba.

You will partner with operations leaders to implement standards, conduct audits, and address regional risks while promoting a strong safety culture. The role focuses on program implementation, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement of HSE performance across multiple sites, with up to 50% travel and hands-on leadership of

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally within an industrial, laboratory, or field operations environment.
• 1+ years of management experience strongly preferred.
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (e.g., JHA/JSA, hazard identification, risk ranking and control hierarchies).
• Experience working across multi-site operations is an asset.
• Ability to travel to ALS sites across the assigned region up to 50% of the time, including air and ground travel.

Responsibilities

• Implement Global and North American HSE programs, standards, procedures, and initiatives throughout the region.
• Adapt and execute approved HSE programs to address regional operational requirements and risks.
• Support site leaders in applying HSE requirements consistently across locations.
• Lead regional HSE improvement initiatives and risk reduction projects.
• Coordinate and facilitate HSE Management Reviews to evaluate system effectiveness.
