Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HSE experience in energy projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HSE policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
  • Skilled in risk management, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing abilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HSE Engineer to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance for their energy projects in Kimberley . This vital role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive HSE strategies and programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance across all project phases. You will work closely with project teams to foster a strong safety culture and promote sustainable practices in demanding operational environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems for energy projects.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs for project personnel at all levels.
  • Monitor environmental impact and implement mitigation strategies to ensure sustainability.
  • Advise project management on all HSE-related matters and promote a proactive safety culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with a significant focus on energy industry projects (e.g., oil & gas, power generation).
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive HSE policies and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation, and emergency response planning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
