Job summary

Hire Authority in Iqaluit, Nunavut, seeks an Assistant Deputy Minister, Operations, to lead the Human Resources Operations branch, including Employee Relations, Job Evaluation, Staffing and Wellness. This executive role reports to the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and shapes HR policy, staffing, and workplace wellbeing across GN departments.

The ADM Operations provides strategic direction, represents the GN in inter-departmental committees, and influences government-wide staff management

Qualifications

• University degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
• Minimum six (6) years of related work experience.
• Minimum four (4) years of progressive managerial experience.
• Professional CHRP designation would be an asset.
• Satisfactory criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• Manages staffing processes compliant with Priority Hiring Policy.
• Leads workplace health, safety and wellness programs leveraging Inuit values.
• Leads GN in collective bargaining and represents GN during negotiations.
• Provides timely labour relations and job evaluation expertise.
• Sets strategic direction aligned with corporate priorities and communicates them.
• Incorporates Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement into service delivery.
