The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily highway maintenance in the Eastern District. You will supervise staff, coordinate safe repair and rehabilitation of roads, and allocate staff and equipment while ensuring compliance with department plans and regulations.

Candidates should have a 2-year technical diploma and 6 years of related experience, with strong skills in budgeting, cost estimation, safety, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Holder of a 2-year technical diploma in a related field and 6 years of related maintenance and construction experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience in cost estimation, budget management and expenditure control.
• Ability to understand and administer acts, regulations, policies, procedures and collective agreements.
• Strong computer proficiency and supervisory skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day highway maintenance and snow/ice operations.
• Supervise staff performance and coordinate safe repair and rehabilitation of roads.
• Schedule staff and equipment; provide technical advice to management.
• Administer HR policies, procedures and collective agreements; ensure compliance with plans and regulations.
