Job summary

Government of Nova Scotia, Department of Public Works, is seeking a Winter Supervisor of Maintenance for a seasonal role supporting road safety and winter operations across multiple locations. You will supervise teams, coordinate routes and equipment, and ensure stock levels for salt and traction sand, with strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 4 years related experience, 2 in snow/ice control.
• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma plus 2 years in snow/ice control services.
• Equivalent education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, technical support, and daily supervision for snow/ice operations.
• Plan and coordinate routes, staffing, equipment assignments and repair.
• Oversee work on job sites and ensure road salt and traction sand stocks are replenished daily.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare cost estimates and inspect maintenance contracts.
