Job description

Transforming Canadian Healthcare Spaces Through Design and Innovation

We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Architect with 10+ years of experience who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, clinical functionality, and project execution. Based in Vancouver, B.C, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead the planning and realization of transformative healthcare environments grounded in Canadian standards while embracing a design-forward, multi-disciplinary practice culture.

Our ideal candidate is both strategic and pragmatic—someone who brings a sharp eye for spatial efficiency, a deep understanding of healthcare regulations in Canada, and a passion for creating places that support healing, staff wellness, and community connection.

As a Senior Healthcare Architect, you will…

  • Lead the planning and design of hospitals, clinics, and complex healthcare environments from concept to construction.
  • Champion design integrity and clinical planning while meeting the functional and regulatory demands of healthcare delivery in Canada.
  • Facilitate user group meetings and integrate clinical workflow insights into efficient and intuitive spatial solutions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines—including architecture, interiors, and planning—to ensure a holistic approach to patient-centered care environments.
  • Establish and maintain project criteria, communicate it to project teams, and manage projects effectively while ensuring design intent is maintained throughout all project phases.
  • Provide technical oversight through design development, construction documents, and contract administration.
  • Stay ahead of evolving standards in infection control, accessibility, and sustainability, including LEED and WELL.
  • Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of continuous learning and creative exploration.

Qualifications

  • A licensed Architect (or eligible for licensure in Canada), with 10+ years in healthcare architecture.
  • Experienced in Canadian healthcare codes, CSA standards, and operational requirements of medical facilities.
  • A confident communicator who can lead meetings, present to clients and stakeholders, and advocate for design excellence.
  • Adept at balancing innovation with feasibility, translating big-picture vision into functional, buildable solutions.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with construction management software and dRofus a preferred asset.
  • Passionate about design, performance, and contributing to a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and impact.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on high-impact healthcare projects that directly serve communities.
  • Join a team that believes in design as a tool for wellness, innovation, and access.
  • Grow within a studio culture that values creativity, mentorship, and cross-disciplinary synergy.
  • Enjoy a competitive salary with growth opportunities, hybrid flexibility, and commitment to work-life balance.
