Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a senior Health & Safety leader to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure full regulatory compliance across a network of sites in Canada. You will champion rollouts of a new safety management platform and modernize SOPs to embed consistent, audit-ready practices nationwide.

The role emphasizes enterprise software implementation, governance, and leadership of a high-performing H&S team, with a competitive compensation package and annual incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7-9 yrs H&S experience
• In-depth knowledge of federal/provincial OHS laws
• Experience implementing enterprise safety software
• Experience developing SOPs and safety standards
• Strong cross-functional influence and leadership
• Incident investigation and risk assessment skills
• Data-driven safety performance analysis desirable
• CRSP designation an asset
• Engineering or H&S degree required

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise rollout of safety platform across sites and train users.
• Standardize SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Foster a proactive safety culture reducing incidents and lost-time.
• Oversee governance, audit, and corrective-action processes.
• Monitor safety indicators and report to senior leadership.
• Identify hazards, assess risk, and track corrective actions to closure.
• Oversee H&S training and certification programs.
• Plan emergency preparedness and crisis response across sites.
• Partner with VP H&S to execute multi-year strategy and annual plan.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing H&S team.
