Job description

Company Overview:

Jaunt Air Mobility Canada is an aerospace and air mobility pioneer dedicated to the design, certification, and high-rate manufacturing of clean-technology VTOL aviation platforms. Operating as a core pillar of the AIRO Group’s Electric Air Mobility division, Jaunt Canada leverages world‑class aerospace engineering and localized supply chains to deliver industry‑leading transport solutions. Our current flagship program, the Jaunt JC250, is an advanced hybrid‑electric, slowed‑rotor VTOL cargo platform engineered for high‑endurance, high‑reliability Beyond Visual Line‑of‑Sight (BVLOS) logistics. Headquartered with a strong professional engineering and operational presence in Montreal and Mirabel, Quebec, Jaunt Canada is bridging the gap between abstract aerospace design and certified, real‑world embedded implementation.

Position Overview:

As a Level 3 Senior Ground Control Station (GCS) Software Analyst, you are a core member of the execution tier, responsible for owning the end-to-end user experience, backend data aggregation, and structural layout of the operator's station software ecosystem. In this role, you will take the lead in evaluating systemic requirements, putting together a comprehensive execution plan, and coordinating the strategic development of the GCS software. Your focus will be on seamlessly integrating commercial third-party applications and stable open-source software libraries to assemble a highly dependable, high‑availability operator workstation tailored for the autonomous JC250 aircraft fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate detailed software roadmaps and technical implementation plans to guide the development, deployment, and expansion of the ground station operator software.
  • Coordinate the integration, security Auditing, and performance tuning of third-party enterprise tools and open-source packages to establish a unified desktop user experience.
  • Design and implement high-availability, multi-threaded backend data aggregation loops capable of managing simultaneous data link feeds, real-time aircraft state metrics, and video streams.
  • Construct intuitive, low-latency display environments and synthetic map visualizations to maximize operator situational awareness during complex autonomous operations.
  • Architect secure, role-based operator permission layers, cryptographic validation routines, and user authentication steps within the ground network structure.
  • Design software-gated input configurations and human-factors interface layouts to simplify decision paths and minimize pilot cognitive workload during operational abnormalities or emergencies.
  • Author verification test scripts and maintain system configuration documentation to support international type-certification goals.
Qualifications:
  • Proven background in software architecture configuration and development targeting safety-critical distributed automation interfaces, robotics control panels, or aerospace dispatch centers.
  • Practical experience evaluating, auditing, and securely combining open-source software frameworks and commercial third-party packages into production environments.
  • Deep technical command of multi-threaded application design, asynchronous network messaging configurations, and real-time telemetry processing pipelines.
  • Hands‑on proficiency utilizing modern user-interface development frameworks, visualization engines, and map tile rendering components.
  • Demonstrated history applying user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) human-factors design practices to manage high-density informational dashboards.
  • Familiarity establishing cryptographic access layers, user authorization models, and secure data logging capabilities.
Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Standing and sitting for extended periods of time,
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner,
  • Ability to work and communicate well with other employees and management, customers, visitors, vendors.
  • Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands,
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach above and below shoulders, and full use of upper extremities,
  • Ability to easily move through an approximately 25,000 square foot warehouse building,
  • Ability to read, write, and understand French,
  • Correctable vision and hearing.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee may also be asked to perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor as required.
