Job summary

TransAlta Corporation in Shelburne, Ontario is seeking a Wind Technician, GE 1.5 SME for our Melancthon wind asset. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain GE 1.5 turbines, ensuring safe, reliable operation and performance while supporting preventive and corrective maintenance.

This on-site, full-time role requires strong collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and Maintenance teams, plus coaching of wind technicians and adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Engineering degree, technical diploma, or trade certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving GE 1.5 wind turbine issues.
• Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve reliability and performance.
• Coach wind technicians and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
