SGRE is currently seeking exceptionally talented and motivated candidates for a technician position.

The technician position is in Forty Mile Windfarm, Alberta. The ideal candidate can diagnose and resolve problems independently and efficiently. They will provide excellent service to our customers, work on complex systems in challenging environments, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices. Safety and Quality form a central part of our culture, and the ideal candidate will have a strong focus on both. Travel could be over 50% in the first year of employment for training purposes, followed by 25% travel in the following years per business needs. Relocation may be offered for this role should it be necessary.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Report any HSE, Quality violations to the Site Lead or Site Manager immediately.
  • Drive continuous process improvements.
  • Service and maintenance of wind turbines.
  • Troubleshoot errors on wind turbines.
  • Assure the site level team is working safely, performing the work according to the work instructions, and working efficiently.
  • Be self-motivated, able to think quickly and address issues as they arise.

The ability to work a flexible work schedule is required, along with the ability to analyze and resolve issues independently and efficiently.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or 3+ years of wind experience with an Associates or Trade School Degree/Certification.
  • Ability to climb to heights up to 250 feet or greater and work in confined spaces.
  • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations.
  • An understanding and commitment to a Safe Work Culture.
  • Relevant work experience e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting, industrial or automotive industry.
  • SAP experience preferred.
