About the role

SECL is seeking a motivated Wind Technician to support operations across wind farms from Grand Valley to Port Ryerse. Working alongside a multi‑disciplinary team, you will maintain peak turbine performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, and deliver excellent customer service in challenging field environments. The job supports SGRE 2.3 MW Geared and 3.0 MW Direct Drive platforms across three site operations and includes contributing to new field procedures and best practices.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Perform technical maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service activities on SECL wind turbine systems both onsite and remotely.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while responding effectively and safely in stressful or hazardous situations.
  • Work at heights up to 300 feet and in confined spaces while maintaining strong safety awareness and composure.
  • Support the development and improvement of field procedures, best practices, and operational processes.
  • Take on additional responsibilities at operating wind farms while continuing to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and operational procedures while performing physically demanding work in varied weather and environmental conditions.
What You Bring
  • Wind turbine experience, particularly with SGRE 2.3 MW Geared and 3.0 MW Direct Drive platforms.
  • College diploma or equivalent technical competency in electrical, mechanical, or related wind farm systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLC programming, converters, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to independently analyze and resolve technical issues.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada, possess a valid driver’s licence and passport, and be able to travel within Canada and the United States as required.
Location & Compensation

Based in Oakville, Ontario. Base salary range $56,000 – $74,000. Benefits include health and wellness, paid time off, holiday pay, and a competitive total rewards package.
