Job summary

Equisoft is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer (Kotlin/Java, React) to join our Product Development team in hybrid mode near Québec City. You will design, develop and deploy innovative solutions, collaborating with a 14-member team of developers, business analysts and QA specialists.

The role focuses on Equisoft/centralize, a back-office insurance agency management platform that connects carriers’ feeds, client data and policies to automate processes and deliver insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer engineering/IT.
• 8–10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong Kotlin or Java programming skills.
• Excellent SQL knowledge and microservice architecture experience.
• Proficiency with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of SOLID and OOP principles.
• Familiarity with Agile and Kanban. DevOps Azure Pipeline knowledge.
• Awareness of web security challenges and best practices.
• Experience solving complex software engineering problems.

Role

The Senior Full-Stack Developer (Kotlin-Java/React) reports to the Director, Product Development, and works closely with a team of 14 members composed of Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Specialists and a Senior Release Coordinator. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying innovative solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Below is a brief description of the expected product the candidate will be working on: Equisoft/centralize is a powerful back-office insurance agency management system that offers our clients a way to connect carriers’ feeds, paramedical data, clients, policies, and more to a single platform. Our workbench solution helps our customers work smarter, provides unique insights, and makes it possible to automate their business processes.

Your Day with Equisoft

• Collaborate in an Agile environment with a dynamic team of software developers, business analysts and quality assurance specialists
• Write robust, efficient, and secure code in accordance with functional analyses
• Participate in the analysis of features that meet both business and technology solutions need
• Innovate, challenge and refine requirements based on technical assessment
• Actively participate in peer-review process and provide constructive feedback
• Participate in and collaborate to functional tests and documentation of actual and future features
• Ensure overall software quality and its evolution in the mid to long-term
• Ensure quality control through scenario testing to validate systems and programs developed comply with the technical specifications
• Write reliable code based on SOLID software engineering practices
• Fix bugs in a timely manner while working of solving more complex issues
• Collaborate with different teams to solve customer issues

Requirements Technical

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or Equivalent College Degree
• 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent knowledge and experience with programming language like Kotlin or Java
• Excellent knowledge with SQL
• Excellent knowledge of microservice architecture
• Good Knowledge and experience with with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day work, and checking their output before trusting it
• Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs
• Good knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP
• Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies
• Knowledge in DevOps Azure Pipeline
• Knowledge of security challenges with web-based applications
• Experience in solving complex software engineering problems
