Job summary

Equisoft in Montreal, Canada is seeking a Full-Stack Application Developer (Kotlin-Java/React) to design, develop, and implement features for a cloud-native PAS product. Work within a 13-person team including developers, QA, and analysts, in a collaborative, agile environment.

You will contribute to the Carbon platform, focusing on scalable, secure code, API integrations, and modern web technologies. Hybrid work, 40-hour weeks, and educational support are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering/IT.
• 5–7 years in a similar role.
• Proficient with Kotlin, Java or .Net.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Front-end with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Strong SOLID and OOP principles.
• Familiar with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• DevOps Azure Pipeline experience.
• Awareness of web security challenges.
• Ability to solve complex software engineering problems.

Role: The Full-Stack Application Developer (Kotlin-Java/React), reports to the Director, Product Development,youwill be working with a team of 13 members that include developers, QA, business analyst, PO and functional developer. The candidate willbe responsible fordesigning, developing, and implementing various features and components of a web-based product application built in Kotlin.If you would like to be part of a creative technicalteamfocusedon the best practices, innovation and collaboration as well asworking in an agile and constantly evolving environment.

Equisoft/Carbon is a cloud-native Policy Administration System (PAS) built for insurance carriers. The platform supports the full policy lifecycle, from underwriting and issuance to billing, claims, and commissions, across life, whole life, and annuity products for carriers around the world.
Carbon is a product in active growth, with new insurance lines and AI-powered capabilities on the near-term roadmap. Joining the team means building something that matters, in one of the most complex and transformation-driven industries in financial services.

Your Day withEquisoft:

• Collaborate in an Agile environment with a dynamic team of software developers, productownersand quality assurance specialists

• Write robust, efficient, and secure codein accordance withfunctional analyses

• Participate in the analysis of features that meet both business and technology solutions need

• Innovate,challengeand refine requirements based on technical assessment

• Activelyparticipatein peer-review process and provide constructive feedback

• Participate in and collaborate to functional tests and documentation of actual and future features

• Ensure overall software quality and its evolution in the mid to long-term

• Write reliable code based on SOLID software engineering practices

Requirements

Technical

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or Equivalent College Degree

• 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent knowledge and experience with programming language like Kotlin, Java or .Net

• Excellent knowledge with SQL

• Excellent knowledge of microservice architecture

• Good Knowledge and experience withwithReact or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript

• KnowledgeofGraphQLand REST APIs

• Good knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP

• Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies

• Knowledge in DevOps Azure Pipeline
