Equisoft is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer (Kotlin/Java) to design, develop, and deploy innovative software solutions in a hybrid setup based in Québec City area. You will join a team of developers, BAs, QA, and a Release Coordinator to deliver back-office insurance platform enhancements.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, collaboration in an Agile environment, and delivering robust software that meets customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of Kotlin or Java.
• Excellent SQL skills.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture.
• Experience with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles and OOP.
• Familiar with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• DevOps Azure Pipeline knowledge.
• Security awareness for web applications.
• Experience solving complex software engineering problems.

Role:

The Senior Full-Stack Developer (Kotlin-Java/React) reports to the Director, Product Development, and works closely with a team of 14 members composes of Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Specialists and a Senior Release Coordinator. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying innovative solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Equisoft/centralize is a powerful back-office insurance agency management system that offers our clients a way to connect carriers’ feeds, paramedical data, clients, policies, and more to a single platform. Our workbench solution helps our customers work smarter, provides unique insights, and makes it possible to automate their business processes.

Your Day withEquisoft:

• Collaborate in an Agile environment with a dynamic team of software developers, business analysts and quality assurance specialists

• Write robust, efficient, and secure codein accordance withfunctional analyses

• Participate in the analysis of features that meet both business and technology solutions need

• Innovate,challengeand refine requirements based on technical assessment

• Activelyparticipatein peer-review process and provide constructive feedback

• Participate in and collaborate to functional tests and documentation of actual and future features

• Ensure overall software quality and its evolution in the mid to long-term

• Ensure quality control through scenario testing tovalidatesystems and programs developedcomply withthe technical specifications

• Write reliable code based on SOLID software engineering practices

• Fix bugsin a timely mannerwhile working of solving more complex issues

Requirements

Technical

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or Equivalent College Degree

• 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent knowledge and experience with programming language like Kotlin or Java

• Excellent knowledge with SQL

• Excellent knowledge of microservice architecture

• Good Knowledge and experience withwithReact or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript

• Experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day work, and checking their output before trusting it

• Knowledge ofGraphQLand REST APIs

• Good knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP

• Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies

• Knowledge in DevOps Azure Pipeline

• Knowledge of security challenges with web-based applications

• Experience in solving complex software engineering problems
