Job summary

Sardine is hiring a frontend-focused Senior Software Engineer to own user-facing experiences in React and TypeScript within our AI products. You will mentor engineers, set frontend standards, and leverage AI tools like Claude to accelerate delivery.

Occasional Go backend work complements frontend efforts, all within a remote-first, Canada-based context. You will collaborate with stakeholders to craft scalable, polished interfaces and drive the engineering culture forward with high-quality,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer with deep frontend focus.
• Expert-level React and TypeScript with strong UX, performance, and accessibility.
• Fluency with AI and agentic coding tools (Claude) to ship efficiently.
• Leadership experience: setting technical standards, mentoring engineers, driving decisions.
• Track record of shipping high-quality frontend at scale.
• Go backend experience is a plus but secondary to frontend work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own user-facing features in React/TypeScript.
• Set frontend technical direction and quality standards; mentor teammates.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to speed development and establish best practices.
• Do backend work in Go when needed to support frontend features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into experiences.
• Contribute to product and engineering roadmaps and maintain docs.
• Help shape engineering culture and maintain high standards.
