Job summary

Air North in Whitehorse, Yukon seeks an experienced kitchen leader to supervise the Black Wolf Bistro cooks and sandwich staff, ensuring recipes, production standards, and timelines are met. This role emphasizes food safety, HACCP compliance, and efficient operations, coordinating with Flight Catering Leads and other departments, while contributing to menu development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Combination of culinary apprenticeship and experience exceeding 5 years.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Experience maintaining records for food time/temperatures logs, food costing reports, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to Air North's mission through customer service, operations, or support.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily activities of cooks and sandwich counter staff.
• Ensure production standards, food quality, safety, and timelines.
• Coordinate production with Flight Catering Leads and other departments.
• Assist with menu development and recipe standardization.
• Maintain HACCP records and food safety documentation.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and report issues.
• Troubleshoot during service disruptions and IROPs.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
