Job description

Are you a strategic finance professional who loves stepping away from the spreadsheet to collaborate directly with operational decision-makers?

Have you already built a reputation for translating complex financial forecasts into high-impact, visual business cases that drive executive decisions?

Are you looking for a larger, multi-billion-dollar canvas where your scenario models and strategic insights will directly shape the future of a landmark national asset?

If you are an established FP&A business partner who thrives on cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning, this is your next major career move.

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar premier transportation infrastructure and commercial hub operator in Canada. They aren’t just managing a massive physical footprint; they are in the midst of a historic operational and technological transformation. Imagine being the strategic financial co-pilot for a "city within a city" that orchestrates billions in revenue, thousands of commercial partners, and millions of customers annually.

Can you see yourself partnering directly with our Commercial Business Partnerships division; the team driving retail, real estate, terminal concessions, and parking revenue to turn raw operational data into major strategic investments?

What You Will Do:

In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical financial modeling and real-world business strategy.

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate directly with senior business leaders to lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans across complex commercial divisions.
  • Scenario & Capital Modeling: Build and stress-test advanced financial models evaluating "Option A vs. Option B" for major commercial investments, lease changes, and multi-million-dollar procurement initiatives.
  • Dashboard Innovation: Design, build, and maintain performance-tracking dashboards (using Power BI or Tableau) to translate massive operational data sets into clear, actionable executive insights.
  • Financial Stewardship: Conduct benchmarking studies, feasibility analyses, and market assessments to drive EBITDA performance and identify "lost opportunity" or cost-saving revenue leaks.
  • The Finance Liaison: Act as the trusted financial advisor and liaison to non-finance operational partners, ensuring commercial agreements align with corporate financial policies.
Who You Are:
  • The Educational Foundation: University degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • The Professional Credential: A completed CPA or CFA designation (or active, advanced pursuit of either) is highly preferred and considered a major asset.
  • The Experience Base: 3+ years of progressive corporate finance, FP&A, budgeting, or business planning experience in a complex, data-heavy environment.
  • The Analytical Toolset: Advanced Excel mastery (financial modeling, scenario forecasting) combined with hands-on experience building and deploying BI dashboards (Power BI / Tableau).
  • The Communication Power: Exceptional ability to present findings to executive-level stakeholders and build cross-functional relationships with non-finance partners.
  • Industry Context (Asset): Experience in commercial real estate, retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), hospitality, transportation, logistics, or similarly complex, multi-stakeholder industries.
  • Security & Compliance: Must be eligible and able to obtain standard federal background security clearance (due to the highly regulated, critical nature of the operations environment).
What’s In It For You:

Our client prides itself on a culture that champions both the personal and professional prosperity of their people:

  • True Career Progression: Work in a high-performing finance team with clear pathways to management and leadership.
  • Unmatched Benefits & Retirement: Start from day one with medical coverage and a flexible retirement program featuring up to 8% employer RRSP matching.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous time off starting at 4 weeks of vacation + 5 personal days, on-site hybrid scheduling (3 days on-site), and continuous upskilling/learning allowances.
