Imagine Recruitment & Advisory is assisting a client seeking a strategic and hands-on finance leader to join its corporate finance team in a leadership-level FP&A role. You will own budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting across multiple business areas, partnering with senior stakeholders and mentoring the finance team to improve processes and drive better business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Canadian-recognized professional accounting or finance designation, such as CPA or CFA.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning, analysis, accounting, or a related finance discipline.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or developing finance professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish high standards, promote accountability, and develop a strong-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes across multiple business areas.
  • Consolidate financial information and prepare analysis, reports, presentations, and insights for senior leadership.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance using relevant business metrics and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and variances.
  • Review periodic performance results and provide clear commentary and recommendations to management.
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to understand business performance and ensure financial results are accurately represented.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team, establishing a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, high performance, and continuous development.
  • Provide guidance on accounting matters and clearly communicate the financial implications of complex issues to business stakeholders.
  • Support the financial reporting and integration of new business activities, investments, acquisitions, or assets.
  • Build and enhance financial models, analytical tools, reporting processes, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency, and reliability of FP&A activities through process improvements and automation.
  • Participate in the enhancement of financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and analytical capabilities.
  • Develop strong relationships with business and finance leaders and maintain an understanding of initiatives that may affect financial performance.
  • Work closely with departmental leaders to understand results, monitor budgets, and support effective financial management.
  • Produce insightful, concise analysis that enables leadership to understand both current performance and forward-looking expectations.
  • Support broader corporate finance initiatives, projects, and strategic analysis as required.

Job description

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on finance professional to join its corporate finance team in a leadership-level FP&A position.

This role will play an important part in the organization's financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting activities. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a complex, multi-business environment and will bring a combination of strong financial expertise, analytical thinking, leadership capability, and business judgment.

The position will appeal to someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders, developing people, improving processes, and using financial information to support better business decisions.

This role offers a competitive compensation package including base salary of $115K-$125K+, bonus, retirement savings program, benefits program, and more. The total compensation package is in the range of $152K-$165K.   • Experience preparing management-level financial reporting and translating detailed analysis into clear business insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to maintaining data accuracy and financial integrity.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with a demonstrated interest in improving processes and ways of working.
  • A collaborative leadership style and willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously develop.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise financial reporting, planning, or consolidation platforms would be considered an asset.
  • Exposure to financial systems implementation, reporting automation, business transformation and process optimization would also be advantageous.
