Job description

job details

Are you a strategic FP&A professional who excels at translating complex, multi-million-dollar financial forecasts into real-world business strategies that non-finance leaders actually understand? Do you have built a reputation as a trusted advisor who can partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations leaders to co-pilot commercial growth? Are you ready to manage a massive commercial real estate portfolio and own your deliverables end-to-end on a highly visible, multi-billion-dollar scale? If you are an established FP&A professional who thrives on cross-functional business partnering, advanced financial modeling, and modern data automation, this is the career-defining opportunity you have been looking for! Our client is a multi-billion-dollar premier transportation infrastructure and commercial hub operator in Canada. They are currently executing a historic operational and commercial transformation. In this highly visible role, you will act as the dedicated financial partner to their Commercial Business Partnerships division, providing the crucial decision-support, scenario analysis, and forecasting models that drive non-aeronautical revenue across retail concessions, parking operations, and a complex commercial real estate portfolio.

Advantages What's In It For You?
  • True Autonomy & High Visibility: Manage a massive, landmark portfolio with direct exposure to executive directors, the CFO, and senior commercial leaders.
  • Unmatched Benefits & Retirement: Start on Day 1 with comprehensive health benefits and an exceptional flexible retirement program featuring up to 8% employer RRSP matching.
  • Generous Time Off: Recharge with 4 weeks of paid vacation plus 5 personal days from your first year.
  • Balanced Hybrid Model: 3 days on-site at a landmark hub in Mississauga (Wednesday is a dedicated team anchor day) and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities

What You Will Do (The Strategic Impact): As a key member of this lean, high-impact team, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy to translate massive data sets into executive strategy.

  • Commercial Business Partnering: Collaborate directly with senior business leaders across Sales, Marketing, and Operations to lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term planning.
  • Real Estate & Contract Analysis: Provide specialized financial planning and analytical support for the organization's massive commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring tight alignment with contract compliance and lease accounting standards.
  • Scenario & Capital Modeling: Build and stress-test advanced, multi-variable financial models to evaluate "Option A vs. Option B" for major commercial investments, procurement initiatives, and pricing strategies.
  • Dashboard & Systems Innovation: Develop, enhance, and maintain sophisticated performance dashboards (using Power BI or Tableau) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive EBITDA performance.
  • The Strategic Translator: Act as the direct conduit between the business units and core corporate Finance teams, converting financial metrics into clear, non-technical business recommendations.
Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • The SFA Tenure: Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience operating specifically at the Senior Financial Analyst level in a complex, corporate FP&A or commercial finance environment. Please note: This role is designed for an experienced analyst approaching manager readiness and is not suitable for candidates looking to make the step from Financial Analyst to SFA.
  • The Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable challenging assumptions, building trust with non-finance partners, and presenting insights directly to executive leadership.
  • The Accounting Foundation: A completed CPA designation is strongly preferred due to the commercial real estate and accounting components of the portfolio. (Candidates actively pursuing their CPA will be considered if they bring exceptional, hands‑on commercial FP&A experience).
  • The Educational Background: University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related analytical discipline.
  • The Analytical Toolset: Advanced Excel mastery (financial modeling, scenario forecasting, Power Query) combined with proven experience building visual reports in modern BI tools (Power BI / Tableau).
  • The Technical X‑Factor (Strong Asset): Experience with, or exposure to, Python, Office Scripts, VBA, or SQL is considered a significant asset to help manage and modify the team's highly sophisticated automated forecasting models.

Industry Context: Prior experience supporting retail, commercial leasing, real estate, consumer goods (CPG), transportation, logistics, or similarly complex, multi‑stakeholder operational environments.

Security & Compliance: Must be eligible and able to obtain standard federal background security clearance (due to the highly regulated, critical nature of the operations environment).
