Job summary

InVision Staffing Services Inc. client, a leading construction firm, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for the parent and related entities.

The role oversees general ledger, month and year-end closings, intercompany transactions, cash management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a BA in accounting/finance, 10+ years in finance, CMA preferred, and experience with multi-entity structures, cost control, budgeting and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CMA focus preferred.
• Manufacturing/construction experience is a must.
• 10+ years of progressive experience within finance.
• Experience with multiple legal entities under different umbrellas.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience improving financial processes for cost reductions and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting and financial reporting for the company and related entities.
• Maintain accounting software, monthly/yearly closings, and intercompany consolidations.
• Manage cash, bank balances, transfers, and credit facilities.
• Prepare bank and regulatory reporting, including annual consolidation reporting.
• Administer payables, vendor payments, and reconciliations of shareholder transactions.
• Coordinate inter-company transactions and fixed asset sub-ledger maintenance.
• Handle government remittances (HST, payroll, WSIB, EHT, etc.) and union reporting.
• Manage leases, insurance contracts, and monthly/annual financial reporting.
• Liaise with lawyers, accountants, and CRA on year-end reporting and audits.
• Drive process improvements, cost reductions, and reporting efficiencies.
