Job summary
A leading construction firm in Ontario is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to manage financial integrity. The role requires overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and ASPE, and enhancing processes. Candidates should have over 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, and hold or be working towards a CPA designation. Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction.
Strong understanding of GAAP, ASPE, and regulatory frameworks.
Experience with job costing is an asset.
Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate audit schedules with external auditors.
Prepare bank compliance reports and other submissions.
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
Review accounting processes and recommend improvements.
Prepare financial analyses and project-based reporting.
