Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a leading transportation infrastructure organization in Canada. You will contribute to financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and insights across large capital projects, partnering with project managers and leaders to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

The role requires a strong accounting/finance foundation, IFRS knowledge, and advanced Excel skills with experience in dashboards and cross‑functional

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and IFRS.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Analyze project costs, revenue, profitability, and financial performance to support operational decision-making.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies by validating information across multiple financial and operational data sources.
• Collaborate directly with project managers and department leaders to understand business activities and explain financial impacts.
• Build financial models and reporting tools that provide clear visibility into project and organizational performance.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Create and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and reporting metrics to support business performance monitoring.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Identify process improvement opportunities related to reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial controls.
• Support internal and external audit activities as required.
• Participate in special projects and strategic finance initiatives.
