Job summary

A leading Canadian bank is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This hybrid role will involve leading month-end close activities, performing complex reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in banking or insurance, and hold a CPA or CA designation. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension or permanent conversion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in banking or insurance.
• Strong month-end close and reconciliation experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.

📍 Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite in Toronto | 12-month contract (possibility of extension or conversion)

A leading Canadian bank is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This is a hybrid role providing exposure to complex financial operations in the banking and insurance sectors, focusing on month-end close, complex reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform complex reconciliations across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Analyze financial results and resolve discrepancies across platforms.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations, and technology to optimize workflows and processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in banking or insurance.
• CPA or CA designation (or in progress) required.
• Strong month-end close, journal entry, and reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Exposure to ERP implementations or financial system projects is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
