Job summary

LAWPRO is seeking a finance professional to join the financial reporting team in Toronto. The role oversees financial statement preparation, quarterly close, regulatory reporting, and FP&A tasks while supporting the annual budget process and ad hoc projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, GL system experience (Microsoft preferred), 5–7 years' post-designation experience, insurance/financial services exposure, and IFRS 17 knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with a general ledger system, preferably Microsoft.
• Minimum 5-7 years' post-designation or relevant work experience.
• Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Technical accounting knowledge of IFRS 17 is an asset.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and oversee quarterly close.
• Handle regulatory reporting and other accounting duties.
• Contribute to treasury and financial planning and analysis activities.
• Prepare month-end journals and reconciliations and assist with budget process.
• Support ad hoc projects as they arise.
