Job summary

The City of Coquitlam is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning team. This regular full-time role focuses on preparing the City’s Five-Year Financial Plan, coordinating with departments, and assisting with annual budget submissions.

You will manage large data sets and develop forecasts with advanced Excel skills in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Financial Planning Lead, contribute to budget documents and analyses, and participate in an earned day

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills to structure and analyze large data sets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and written/spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the City’s Five-Year Financial Plan and annual budget submissions.
• Liaise with peer departments and align financial information with city procedures and policies.
• Prepare budget documents and materials; conduct forecasting, analytics, and data visualizations.
