The City of Victoria is seeking a Financial Analyst – Budgets to support operating and capital budgets, conduct variance analysis, and drive budgeting improvements. You will work with multiple teams to deliver accurate financial information for decision making and policy development.

This CUPE Local 50 position offers a 35-hour week, hybrid work options, and a defined benefits pension along with extended benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High school graduation.
• Third level CGA/CMA program. (3 years)
• 3 years of budgeting and computerized accounting experience.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate the preparation and administration of operating and capital budgets.
• Review budget submissions for guidelines compliance; maintain spreadsheets and monitor budget adjustments; prepare monthly variance analyses and financial reports.
• Coordinate grant applications, claims and year-end reporting; ensure timely submission and respond to inquiries.
• Provide financial advice and guidance to departments in budgeting; assist in budget presentations for senior management and council.
• Develop and implement budget policies, procedures, and standards; train users on budget software.
