Job summary

Vaco/Highspring is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. You will prepare and post journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, and ensure strong documentation and controls across the close cycle.

The role requires 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics), and advanced Excel. CPA progression is a plus; collaboration with multiple teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-routine journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll, intercompany activity, and reclassifications.
• Prepare timely and accurate balance‑sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Maintain clear supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate unusual balances and period‑over‑period variances.
• Partner with AP, AR, payroll, FP&A, tax, and operational teams to obtain close inputs and resolve accounting issues.
• Support internal and external audit requests with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reconciliation quality, documentation, and controls.
• Assist with financial reporting, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed.
• Support and mentor junior accounting team members where applicable.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.

Pay Rate

$50.00/ Hour
