Job summary

Senior Financial Analyst – 6 Month Contract in the Greater Toronto Area. Responsibilities include monthly close, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, budgeting support, and financial reporting. CPA designation preferred; 5+ years' experience with GAAP and Microsoft Dynamics GP is valued.

Must reside in the GTA and be eligible to work in Canada. Benefits include bonuses and retirement plan. Discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports.
• Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor cash management activities.
• Support annual budgeting, capital budgets, and financial planning.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial transactions.
• Prepare government funding reports, GST/HST filings, and rebate submissions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies.
• Lead year-end audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Partner with operational teams to support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing designation preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Experience with government funding and reporting considered an asset.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, where required.

$40.00 / Hour
