Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant for a 12-month contract in Toronto to support month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting cycles. Qualifications

• CPA designation or close to designated is preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and consolidated reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools is an asset.

Our client in the Mining sector is seeking a Senior Accountant for a 12-month contract to support the month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting processes. The role will require working in Toronto, 2 days a week. Job#: 305577

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end and periodic consolidation process.
• Prepare financial reporting packages.
• Review intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end working papers.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate annual audit requirements and support external auditors.
• Assist with consolidated financial reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and elimination entries.
• Prepare financial analysis, reporting packages, and variance analysis for senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting and reporting processes.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of NetSuite, Salesforce, reporting platforms, and finance data systems.
• Assist with business intelligence, data analytics, and AI-enabled reporting initiatives.
