Your role, as Senior Manager of Finance, Corporate is to be responsible for assisting in leading all financial reporting for the company and its subsidiaries. This position requires deep technical knowledge, great attention to detail, strong communication skills, in-depth accounting knowledge, a team player mentality, and the ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Financial Reporting function and ensure compliance under IFRS, local, and parent company accounting rules, along with compliance of any tax regulations and public reporting requirements
- Lead consolidation accounting across the UK, Australian, Canadian and South African entities
- Perform quality assurance checks and prepare the quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of the MD&A including analyses to support quarterly and annual reports and supplemental information
- Assess and document the technical accounting impact and required disclosures for major transactions, including significant contracts, acquisitions, debt and equity offerings and other complex transactions
- Prepare loans and borrowings working paper, swap settlements, debt covenant calculation
- Post various corporate finance monthly and quarterly recurring journal entries
- Consolidation of intangible assets, fixed assets, lease liabilities continuity schedules
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and ongoing continuous disclosure requirements
- Assist in coordinating with Financial Reporting function of any subsidiaries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist VP Tax in preparation of tax working papers and FP&A team for ad-hoc queries on budgeting and forecasting
- Assist in preparing Purchase Price Allocations (PPAs)
- Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews
- AdHoc projects which help the Company’s processes to be automized and integrated
- Preparation of consolidated cash flow statement
- Coordinating and consolidating the month-end management reporting (such as share-based compensation, B / S and P / L, etc.)
- Reviewing the regional B / S reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of QBR and Audit Committee decks
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting, and a CPA, CA from public practice is required.
- 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in public companies reporting under IFRS.
- Big Four or National Firm accounting experience is required.
- Exposure to public company M&A, IFRS, SOX controls, transfer-pricing, multi-currencies, multi-subsidiary consolidation, and technical accounting is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of IFRS accounting rules along with extremely well-developed public financial reporting and disclosure experience, including management discussion and analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Experience in the Software / Technology sectors is a plus.
- Well-developed MS Office and financial modeling skills.
