Job summary

Natural Resource Solutions Inc. (NRSI) is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our Finance department, overseeing Canada-wide accounting and financial operations.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Controller will ensure accurate, timely financial statements and provide strategic insights to leadership and project teams. The role requires a CPA designation, 5+ years in senior finance or accounting, and strong proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance.
• Experience with multi-entity environments is an asset.
• Experience with BQE CORE and ADP payroll is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting and financial operations.
• Oversee preparation of internal and external financial statements.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Oversee AP, AR, invoicing, and general ledger activities.
• Oversee reconciliations and tax installments/remittances.
• Oversee payroll administration and related processes via ADP.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and financial metrics for management.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to leadership.
• Support project teams with budgets and financial analysis.
• Contribute to proposals and strategic initiatives.
• Identify process improvements in invoicing, expenses, and reporting.
• Utilize and improve financial systems such as BQE CORE.
• Develop/maintain financial controls and procedures.
• Participate in hiring/training of accounting staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
