Job summary

Bauer Foundations Canada is seeking a Senior Estimator for its locations in Burnaby / Vancouver, BC, or Oakville, ON, Canada. The role focuses on generating project opportunities by analyzing inquiries and preparing competitive tender documentation.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with 2–5 years in ground engineering, strong cost estimation skills, and fluency in English; French is a plus. Oakville and other Canadian sites are considered.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inquiry packages and communicate with Clients to understand needs.

• Interpret and respond to complex technical specifications.
• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Negotiate complex technical and commercial issues with diverse audiences.
• Identify new markets through prospecting, web research and industry events.

Our subsidiary BAUER Foundations Canada represents BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH in Canada and is looking for a Senior Estimator (m/f/x) for its locations in Burnaby / Vancouver, BC, or Oakville, ON, Canada, to generate project and business opportunities through customer contact in alignment with our business plans and growth strategies.

• Analyze inquiry packages, communicate with Clients and understand their needs
• Assess alternate methods to provide cost and time savings to Clients
• Prepare and review technical tenders, bids, and tender documentation
• Interpret and respond to complex technical specifications
• Present design concepts to clients and other stakeholders
• Negotiate and communicate complex technical and commercial issues to a variety of audiences
• Identify and evaluate new markets and selling points through prospecting, web research, and networking online as well as by participating in industry events, professional groups, and networking associations

Your profile:

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in ground engineering or special foundations
• Proven experience in proposal preparation and project engineering applications with successful outcomes
• Experience or qualifications in cost engineering or applications engineering are considered an asset, as well as site experience in ground engineering techniques
• Strong technical knowledge across a wide range of ground engineering and special foundation techniques
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with excellent prioritization and time management
• Fluency in English required; French proficiency is an asset
