Job summary

Bauer Foundations Canada is seeking a Senior Estimator in Burnaby, BC to manage RFP responses, design-bid concepts, and client engagement. The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical background, strong analysis, and effective tender preparation.

You will interface with clients and Operations, shaping project bids and strategy. The position emphasizes cost engineering, proposal development, and market prospecting, with collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality estimates and competitive

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in ground engineering or special foundations.
• Experience or qualifications in cost engineering or applications engineering are assets.
• Proven proposal preparation and project engineering experience.
• Strong technical knowledge across ground engineering techniques.
• Site experience in ground engineering is desirable.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines with good prioritization and time management.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Generate project opportunities through customer contact aligned with BAUER Canada's plans.
• Analyze inquiry packages and understand client needs.
• Identify strategic selling points for each project and client.
• Propose cost/time-saving alternatives for clients.
• Prepare and review tenders, bids and tender documentation.
• Interpret and respond to complex technical specifications.
• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Visit construction sites to obtain firsthand feedback from Operations.
• Negotiate technical and commercial issues with diverse audiences.
• Identify and evaluate new markets via prospecting and networking.
• Maintain client databases and portals.
• Attend industry events and professional groups.
• Promote BAUER’s ethics, standards, and procedures.
